MION X IFM PARIS: EXCLUSIVE ACCESSORIES FOR PARIS FASHION WEEK 2025

11/03/2025

We are immensely proud to present our collaboration with IFM – Institut Français de la Mode.

This prestigious fashion school, born from the merger of the École de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne—founded in 1927—and IFM, established by Monsieur Pierre Bergé in 1986, is based in Paris. Located at 34 Quai d’Austerlitz, the Austerlitz Campus is a 9,000 m² architectural complex seamlessly integrated into the urban landscape of the Cité de la Mode et du Design.

On March 3 at 3:00 PM, the annual Master of Arts Show 2025 took place. More than just a typical fashion school runway show, this event marks the opening of Paris Fashion Week® Fall/Winter 2025/2026.

Among the 26 students showcasing their work, Mion had the honor of contributing custom labels, ribbons, and fabrics specially crafted for the collections of three talented designers: Darius Betschart, Paul Billot, and Michael Zhang.

For Darius, we created a series of unique labels and ribbons. He was particularly fascinated by the reverse side of vintage woven labels that we had sent as inspiration. He asked us to replicate that same effect on the front of the materials.

This request led to the development of labels and ribbons featuring intricate figures floating on textured backgrounds. We carefully balanced visual and tactile appeal while ensuring the durability of the woven structures.

Paul Billot

Paul envisioned six custom lanyards, each featuring a different inscription in six distinct color variations. What seemed like a straightforward request turned into a technical challenge: achieving seamless color gradients, vibrant tones, and crisp lettering required an in-depth study of CAD designweaving techniques, and finishing processes.

The final result met Paul’s expectations, while also allowing Mion to refine new techniques for producing high-quality custom ribbons for the fashion industry.

Michael Zhang

Michael’s approach to his collection was deeply evocative. Even before receiving the files for fabric production, he shared with us the story of his origins and identity exploration. His project fuses ancient Chinese traditions with contemporary Western influences, bringing to life woven sculptures.

Among the various pieces we created for Michael, the most ambitious and visually striking was a 14-meter-long jacquard fabric.

With the support of expert textile manufacturers, he transformed this fabric into a three-dimensional ribbon that wraps around the human figure, turning it into a living sculpture.

Our deepest gratitude goes to Darius, Paul, and Michael. Seeing their visions come to life through our fabrics and accessories has been an incredibly rewarding experience. At Mion, we believe that the future of fashion is built through collaboration, innovation, and expertise. We remain committed to supporting emerging talent, transforming ideas into reality, and pushing the boundaries of textile creativity.

A special thank you to Madame Leyla Neri, Head of the Master of Arts in Fashion Design at IFM Paris, and to the faculty staff for offering us this incredible opportunity.
